Pro Engineering Consulting, Inc was contracted recently to provide emergency lighting design for the Nordstrom distribution warehouse in Ontario California.
The greatest challenge in the project was verifying the existing emergency power systems. The solution was to shut off all of the building power and document the lights that remained on via back-up generator power.
Once the lights had been documented, the design was easy. We ran our photometric calculations based upon the lighting layout and fixture types and determined the areas that had low light levels. Also, the team improved the exit sign layout to match the egress lighting requirements.
The project was a success and Nordstrom was able to get their permitting required to make their TI modifications.
