Parking Lighting is always a costly endeavor for facility owners. The main costs associated are not for the light fixtures themselves, but instead, all of the construction around the fixtures.
Existing parking lots must be trenched, new conduits and conductors must be run from the service panel to the fixture locations, trenches must be back-filled and parking lots must be repaired to look as new. This takes plenty of labor and material.
Lately, it has become more standard for these facility owners to move toward solar parking light fixtures. These fixtures can be completely off-grid, meaning there is no trenching required. With the technology around today, these fixtures provide comparable photometric levels with the conventional parking lighting systems.
The Torrance Courthouse was the latest facility that Pro Engineering Consulting designed the parking lighting system for and the solar parking light fixtures were selected for the project.
